ABOUT ME:
You’ve tried everything - the calm talks, the deep breaths, the rewards - but your child’s big feelings still lead to tears, shutdowns, or outbursts (sometimes from your child, sometimes from you).
You know your child is bright and kind, but when overwhelm takes over, it can leave everyone feeling exhausted and unsure of what to do next. You want your child to feel confident and capable, not anxious or misunderstood. You also want to parent with calm and compassion, in a way that honors your values, even if it’s different from how you were raised. What you’re looking for is real support that understands your child’s emotions, your culture, and your family’s unique dynamic.
Families choose Free to Be Mindful because therapy here supports both children and the parents raising them. With 20+ years of experience as an educator and therapist, I help children learn emotional regulation, manage anxiety, and express their feelings in healthy ways. Using play therapy, sand tray, literature and biofeedback, I make therapy safe, fun, and meaningful, so kids not only open up, but also gain coping tools to last a lifetime.
For parents, I provide culturally attuned, mindfulness-based care and parent guidance to help navigate challenges and create calmer routines at home that helps to see real progress at home and school... not just in the therapy room.
Therapy doesn’t mean something is wrong... it means your family is seeking support and strategies to grow through life’s ups and downs. Let’s work together to reduce the overwhelm and bring joy back into your home.
